Vision correction could be your solution!
Vision correction is a microsurgical eye surgery that permanently corrects any refractive errors (myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism and/or age-related hyperopia).
Vision correction techniques
Nowadays, all refractive errors can be successfully surgically corrected. Procedures to correct such defects have been carried out around the world for decades. As a result, newer, safer and more effective techniques are being developed. Depending on the age, lifestyle, post-surgery expectations, refractive errors and the over-all condition of the eye of the individual, different vision correction techniques are available.

Laser eye surgery is a procedure performed by using different lasers to permanently correct refractive errors. There are several methods of laser eye surgery.
The Visian ICL intraocular lens implantation surgery is a safe, painless and short-term procedure for the patient. The doctor inserts the ICL VISIAN lens through a 2.8 mm incision between the area behind the pupil and in front of the crystalline lens.
Eye surgery where the surgeon removes the crystalline lens through an 1.8 to 2.4 mm hole and replaces it with a custom-made lens.
Using a precise microsurgical technique, the doctor removes the cataract and inserts an artificial intraocular lens (IOL), which can be standard or custom-made.
Always by your side, from consultation to recovery
The pre-operative process starts with a consultation with one of our consultants, who will present the options you have for your vision correction procedure. The consultation is then followed by precise examinations and measurements with the use of intricate medical equipment. The last step is another consultation with your doctor where the best solution for you is determined based on test results. After the surgery, we will ensure that you and your vision are being properly cared for to achieve the best possible end results.
The patient always comes first
We strive to always give each patient the attention they deserve, from initial demands to the final satisfaction. Throughout the process, we answer any questions and concerns you may have and work together to find the best solutions. When deciding on which procedure is best for an individual, we always try to put ourselves in the patient’s shoes and stick to our principle: “What is good for the patient is good for me.”

Getting the best possible solution through accurate diagnosis and consultation
Before the procedure itself, a very thorough vision and eye health examination must be carried out, which includes a full diagnosis using various types of equipment. The eye surgeon needs the measurements, taken by trained medical staff, to be as precise as possible. Based on the results of the measurements, the overall eye condition and the discussion with the patient, the ophthalmologist will suggest the best possible solution.
FAQ
Only the best is good enough for your eyes!
1.
I am 53 years old and short-sighted. My prescription is -2.50 diopters for both eyes. I wear glasses for my short-sightedness but can read up close without them. I have been diagnosed with incipient cataract. Which method is right for me?
In such cases, the most suitable method is intraocular lens replacement (IOL). The lens can be standard or custom-made, which ensures permanent correction of refractive errors.
2.
My daughter is 20 years old and has high myopia. Her prescription is over -10 diopters. Is she suitable for the SMILE method?
With the ReLEx SMILE method, it is also possible to correct high myopia. To confirm this is the best solution for you, a basic ophthamological examination is required, during which other parameters of the eye are also checked.
3.
What is the effect of ReLEx SMILE on age-related refractive errors?
SMILE does not affect age-related refractive errors.
4.
What are the chances of something going wrong during vision correction surgery? Can the laser remove too much tissue? Can a surgeon make a mistake during tissue removal?
The laser cuts off as much tissue as is pre-set on the laser. The surgeon then merely removes the cut off tissue. Such an error has never occurred in the past. However, the surgeon’s extreme professionalism and precision are of high importance.
5.
What are possible complications of the ReLEx SMILE method?
Complications with the ReLEx SMILE method are extremely rare. If a complication, such as inappropriate eye movement, occurs during the procedure, the laser is stopped. The procedure can usually be continued, or in the worst case, completed subsequently within 14 days. Until then, refractive errors are managed by wearing glasses or contact lenses.
6.
What is the best time of year to undergo vision correction surgery?
All seasons are suitable for this type of operation. We do however advise against exposure to excessive cold or heat for the first few days after the procedure.
7.
Is pregnancy an issue for vision correction surgery?
All seasons are suitable for this type of operation. We do however advise against exposure to excessive cold or heat for the first few days after the procedure.
8.
Is the procedure possible for all refractive errors?
Every refractive error can be corrected, but various eye diseases can limit the possibility of lens replacement surgery. If the eyes are healthy, any refractive error can be solved.
9.
How do you know that vision correction with lens replacement is permanent?
Because the material of the lens has been previously tested. It has been used in cataract surgery for more than 20 years and is constantly being improved.
10.
Why is ZEISS better than other lenses?
This lens is the only trifocal lens and is extremely well tested, having been in use for 9 years.
